The outbreak of covid- 19 pandemic was with no doubt a handcuff for the entertainment industry as many artiste have taken sides with some chosing to be silent for the entire period while others opted for releasing good music, videos and staging online concerts as the industry is a competitive one.
While some Ugandan musicians abroad chose to give their career a break, Musician Deodee Muhima alias Tha icon known for songs like ‘te amor’ and ‘sheri’ decided to move with the flow “sing from home”. First, he released Omwoyo song an audio he had recorded with producer Malik Make of genius empire and while many thought he would resume his career after he gets back, the UK based artiste funded and released Omwoyo video with him appearing anywhere in the song.
The song was shot from Entebbe, directed by J buoy directed and had children from Namaliri talent group acting as Tha icon and the vixen.
Speaking to our reporter, tha icon said that he had to release the video because him together with the team were running out of time yet the industry is competitive.
About the choice of performers that appear in the video, icon said he chose children of all people because he was impressed by the young boy’s talent after he saw him doing a song challenge of another artiste early this year.
