Hannington Sebwalunyo Bids Farewell to Maroons FC

Goalkeeper Hannington Sebwalunyo has officially confirmed his departure from Maroons Football Club, ending his one-year spell ar the club.

Sebwalunyo confirmed his departure via his official Facebook page while bidding farewell to the Luzira prison warders.

In his post, the former BUL FC custodian heaped praise on the Big League outfit that transformed him into a better footballer and wished them success in the future.

“Today I say goodbye to a magnificent club as it is Maroons Football Club (Uganda Prisons). I thank the club for helping me become a better footballer and for making me feel at home during my stay at the club,” he noted.

He added, “After this I can only say thank you to the club, coaching staff, the fans that supported me since the day I wore the clubs Jersey and of course thank you and good luck to my teammates who helped me settle in since day one not only as teammates but as friends.”

He joined Maroons FC at the start of 2019/2020 season from BUL FC and was the first choice goalkeeper ahead of Emmanuel Akol.

Sebwalunyo who managed to make 20 appearances and kept Four clean sheets last season, is said to have finalized talks with Nakawa based URA FC.

If the deal goes through, he will replace James Alitho who recently joined Zambia Premier League giants Zanaco.
