The Member of Parliament for Kwania County, Tonny Ayo has won the National Resistance Movement party primary elections to retain his seat in Parliament.
According to final results declared by the Kwania district NRM election officer, Tonny Ayo won with a landslide victory of 84.7% after garnering 12,751 votes.
Ayo’s closest rival, Oguti Geoffrey came second with 1,921, which is equivalent of 12.8%, and Mr. Okek Erick came last with 383 votes representing 2.5%.
In the newly created Kwania North Constituency Mr. Ongu James Tar won with 11,942 (71.0%) followed by Omara Christopher, who garnered 4,429 votes. Mr. Ogwang Jimmy came last with 450 votes representing 2.7%.
