Kyadondo East legislator, also the aspiring presidential candidate on the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu aka Bobi Wine, has released his first passport as proof about his age.
In the passport number B228843 which was issued on March 1, 2000, expiring on March 1, 2005, it is stated that he was born in 1982 not 1980 as it is indicated in some of the documents.
He has promised to release more evidence to that effect.
In his Facebook Post, he has said that he rarely respond to regime propaganda aimed at detracting them from their mission.
“But in the recent days, allegations have been made about my academic documents and age intended to cast doubt on my integrity and character,” he said.
“For the benefit of the brothers and sisters who may be shaken by these state sponsored attempts, I will address the nation tomorrow at 10 am and clarify on a number of things,” the post further reads.
Lawyer Hassan Mabirizi, has throughout this week, been in the media promising to do whatever is possible to ensure that a “dishonest person doesn’t appear on the ballot paper.”
He wrote to UNEB, NIRA, Passport office and various academic institutions to avail him with documents which will help him ascertain the truth about the controversies surrounding Kyagulanyi’s age as well as the exact dates at which he sat for his final exams.
Mabirizi alleges that Kyagulanyi was born in 1980 not in 1982 as he alleges in his documents presented to the Electoral Commission during his nomination for Kyadondo Parliamentary seat.
