Simon Shimanya, a 40-year-old teacher was on Tuesday charged with murder before Nabweru Chief Magistrates Court.
Shimanya is alleged to killed his wife 32-year-old violet Kakai, who was working as a nurse at international Hospital Kampala (IHK).
According to prosecution, suspect killed his wife on August 1st after accusing her of having an extramarital affair.
He was arrested nearly two weeks later hiding in Isingiro his home district.
On being read the charges by Patricia Amoko the chief Magistrate of Nabweru, Shimanya confessed to the murder and asked for a lenient sentence.
He told the court that he did not intend to murder his wife and that he also needed to take care of his motherless children.
But being that the this is a capital offense only heard in high courts, Shimanya was remanded until 1st September 2020.
