Afrigo Band’s Director, Moses Matovu has been named part of the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) advisory board, this website has learnt.

It is understood that Matovu agreed to the new role following a chat with the association’s President, Ykee Beda as well as the senior adviser, Mesach Semakula.

“Mr. Moses Matovu a legend of this great industry and an elder together with our senior advisor Mesach Semakula and president Ykee Benda had a great chat on how to take this industry to greater heights, picking up the broken pieces and uniting.” A post announcing the new appointment read on the UMA Facebook page.

“We are happy to announce that Mr. Matovu has agreed to join the UMA advisory board, as an elder his wisdom and experience is paramount. We are happy to have you sir.”

Moses Matovu brings a wealth of experience to the new role having served in the music industry for close to four decades.

UMA is a body that was established in 2019 to protect and preserve Ugandan music while promoting unity among musicians.
