Having strengthened the goalkeeping department with the acquisition of two youthful shot stoppers, Express Football Club’s goalkeeping coach Sam Kawalya now expects a better season ahead.
The Red Eagles have already signed 24 year old Cryspus Kusiima and 20 year old Uganda Hippos shot stopper Denis Otim who will be understudy to experienced Muwanga Matthias.
According to Kawalya, the three goal minders tick the boxes and possess the qualities needed to play for a big club like Express.
“Both goalkeepers that we signed possess the qualities needed to play for a big club like this (Express FC) so we couldn’t have scouted better,” Kawalya told the club website.
He added, “I believe in all of them including Mathias Muwanga and am certain that the upcoming season will totally be different for the better.”
Last season, the Wankulukuku based side conceded 37 goals will and now hopes to have a better performance and earn a top three finish, a status they last achieved in the 2015/16 season.
Besides the two acquisitions, the Wasswa Bbosa coached side have also signed defender Richard Bbosa.
