Police in Kabale has this morning arrested over 100 people in its intensified operations targeting those that have been defying the government directives to minimize the spread of Covid19
Elly Maate the Kigezi Regional police spokesman says authorities were concerned over the rate at which people have relaxed on the measures.
Most locals, he says have been making unnecessary movements without keeping social distance and not putting on masks, bodaboda cyclists carrying more than one passenger and not following the instructions among others.
“When you hear the number of the sick and death increasing, it’s because people have taken it as a joke something we shall not allow. These operations will continue until people themselves take everything serious and abide by the standard operating procedures or else, they risk the long arm of the law,” Said Maate
