CAF Confirm New Dates For 2021 AFCON, 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced new dates for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifier duels.

This follows the postponment of the 2021 African Nations Cup tournament by a year due to the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic.

According to the latest development, Match-day three and four of the AFCON Qualifiers will be played between 9th and 17th of November this year while Match-day Six and Seven is scheduled for 22nd and 30th of March 2021.

Meanwhile, the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers will start off with Match-day one and two slated for 31st May and 15th June 2021 respectively.

The qualifiers will end with a knockout phase matches in November next year after all the 40 African countries have finished their six matches.

Before the postponment of AFCON Qualifier games, Uganda was on top group B with 4 points from 2 games.

The Cranes were pitted against Kenya, Rwanda, and Mali in group E of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
