Producer Nessim eyes 15 year old talent, Lucky Jo from Kumi

As the music industry keeps evolving  so have the child stars. From Fresh Kid to Felistar and now Lucky Jo, the young keep challenging the elders to up their music game.

Latest on the scene is a 15 year old Lucky Jo from Kumi district whose voice can leave one wondering if the toddler has been singing for years.

Just like his name, Lucky Jo’s music future is bright as renowned audio producer Nessim is set to sign him as his first artist.

The multi-talented Lucky Jo started his music journey in his Primary Seven vacation where he wrote his first song Keity.

Lucky Jo approached media personality, Douglas Lwanga to seek advice on how he could promote his newly recorded audio track.

After listening to his music, Lwanga appreciated his voice and talent and directed him to Nessim Pan Production to reproduce his already recorded single.

Nessim picked a lot of interest in Lucky Jos Talent and saw a lot of potential and he offered to mentor and produce Lucky Jo.

The 15 year old Lucky Joshua Iisa was born on 20th February 2005 to Mr. Anguria Iisa and Mrs. Mondo. Lucky Jo has two siblings Shielder Elisabeth Iisa and Winner Christabal Kawaglakwe Iisa        

He joined Joy Christian Nursery and Primary School from 2009 to 2012, Nursery to Primary Two and continued his Primary Level at Greenhill Academy Kibuli from 2013 to 2017, Primary Three to Primary Seven where he groomed his talent. He joined High School in St Mary’s Kitende Boarding School in 2018 to 2019 for his Senior One and currently studies at Greenhill Academy.

Nwagi to feature in DJ Billys Zoom virtual night Club

With Covid 19 striking the entertainment industry, only the innovative minds have managed to stay afloat. DJ Billy a Ugandan DJ based in the UK is one of the few creatives that started up a virtual club night.

“Dj Billy Virtual club night started as a joke, when COVID-19 hit UK most clubs had to close down. I lost my weekly dj job at Ruby’s Night club, it was tough staying in every Saturday without going out to dj,” said DJ Billy.

Dj Billy started a virtual club night which runs on zoom.us. The  DJ Billy virtual club night has received a lot of support from people around the world attending every Saturday in their living rooms, work, cars. People have created dance floors in their houses with disco lights.

Dj Billy zoom Virtual club night has also  hosted a wide range of DJs from different parts of the world entertaining virtual club goers.  Dj Billy Zoom Virtual Club night started hosting artists including Naira Ali, Lea Habz, Ngobi Godfrey, Brenjeezy, Peter Rhymer, Seden, Patra Kabatesi, Sir Elvis from Kenya, Azawi, and this Saturday Billy is hosting Winnie Nwagi as he celebrates his birthday

Ugandan Celebrity Siblings – Matooke Republic

Today we look at a list of Ugandan celebrity siblings who have been making ripples in the music, television, radio, comedy, Politics, film and fashion industry over the years.

These siblings have earned big recognition within the public eye starting from famous artist brothers like Jose Chameleone, Weasel, late AK47 and Pallaso  who have dominated  the music industry while Mc Kats and Mc Isaac take the win in the Television department.

However the pairings of famous siblings doesn’t end there, here are the siblings who made it on our list of interests

The Mayanja Siblings

The Uganda music industry would most definitely not be the same without the contributions of these four brothers Joseph Mayanja popularly known as Chameleone, Douglas Mayanja known by many as Weasel, the late Emmanuel Mayanja who was commonly known as AK47 and Pius Mayanja aka Pallaso are all into music. But they are not just your everyday musicians, Weasel and Pallaso are both respected singers while sibling Jose Chameleone is one of the African music legends and an aspiring politician.

President Museveni and Salim Saleh

Yoweri kagutta Museveni is the president of republic of Uganda and he has been in power for over 35 years while Gen. Caleb Akandwanaho known by many as Salim Saleh, He is President Museveni’s younger brother. Saleh is a retired bush war hero who still holds much influence in the military and security. He was once Minister of State for Micro-finance, senior presidential advisor on defence and now is the chairman of operation wealth creation.

Bobi Wine and Eddy Yawe

It wouldn’t be a sibling list without the famous Robert Kyagulanyi alias as Bobi Wine and Eddy Yawe now would it? Bobi Wine is one of the Uganda best musicians and at the same time his critical role as an opposition politician cannot go unnoticed while Eddy Yawe is part of the Uganda’s successful ‘Afrigo Band.’

Juliana Kanyomozi and sister Laura Kahunde 

Juliana Kanyomozi is a Ugandan musician, actress and entertainer. She is one of the most respected East African Female musicians. In 2008 Juliana made her film debut in Henry Ssali’s Kiwani Movie while her sister Laura Kahunde is a Ugandan actress. She once played Angela on NTV’s Second Chance and also appeared in a Henry Ssali film Bullion with her sister Juliana Kanyomozi.

Mc Kats and Mc Isaac

Katamba known by many as MC Kats is a popular Ugandan MC. He is one of the most sought out MC’s out there because of the life he adds to every public event. His brother Isaac is also a good MC who is currently working alongside his brother at one of the biggest televisions in Uganda, NBS television.

Vampino and Maurice Kirya

Talking about talent that runs in the family blood, one such easily recognizable family is that of the Kiryas who have been in the music for a long time. The two brothers Elvis Kirya popularly known as Vampino and Maurice Kirya hae been doing their things consistently for over ten years now

Andrew Mwenda and sister Margaret Muhanga

Andrew Mwenda is the professional journalist and Independent Magazine boss while his elder sister, Margaret Muhanga, also a former journalist with The New Vision is a Member of Parliament. 

Jeff Kiwa and Allan Kiwa

The Kiwa siblings managing careers in Uganda’s entertainment industry spans for close to two decades now. Jeff is part of the famous Leone Island boss Jose Chameleone, Radio & Weasel, Sheebah, Pallaso, Rhode Y Kabako, Grenade, Late AK47, Nina Roz and many others.

Rebecca Jjingo and Paul Jjingo Barnabaus

Rebecca Jjingo is a musician and famous local radio presenter while her brother Paul Jjingo is on the other hand an actor who have worked with one of the famous ‘The Ebonies group.’
