Lawyer Hassan Male Mabirizi has finalized paying to the Electoral Commission so as to have Hon Robert Kyagulanyi’s academic papers provided to him as he requested.
Mabirizi, as per the requirement from the Commission in the letter dated August 18, 2020, has deposited twenty thousand shillings (20,000) to the designated account in Bank of Africa Uganda and now awaits proceedings from the Electoral Commission.
Mabirizi wrote to the Electoral Commission seeking to have a look at Hon Kyagulanyi’s academic documents that he presented during his nominations for the presidential post because he questions the age at which he attained various qualifications.
He has laughed at all the people using social media as a tool to attack his personality and that this will not deter him from proceeding with the battle he started.
“I have fought bigger battles than this. I have been in a battle with the Kabaka and President Museveni so Kyagulanyi’s academic documents are not a big deal,” Mabirizi said.
Mabirizi went further and stated that he has no beef with anybody but his intention is to ensure that the rule of law in the country is respected and upheld.
On August 10, Mabirizi wrote to the Electoral Commission seeking to have a look at Kyagulanyi’s academic transcripts to clear his doubt concerning the years when the Kyadondo East legislator attained his qualifications having joined primary one at 2 years, sat O’Level at 13 years and A level at 16 years.
According to the Access to information Act, Electoral Commission has only 21 days within which to serve anybody who applies for such documents.
