National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission on Thursday extended the deadline for picking of expression of interest forms to Monday next week
Dr Tanga Odoi the party Electoral Commission chairperson told press the extension is to benefit those aspiring to contest on the NRM ticket on position of Constituency Member of Parliament, District Woman Member of Parliament, Special interest Group representatives and LC.5 Chairpersons.
“Expression of interest and picking of nomination forms has been extended to Monday August 3rd 2020, excluding July 31st a public holiday, August 1st and 2nd which are weekends.”
He advised the members also to use the NRM Electoral Commission official website to download the expression of interest forms
Earlier on the party had set 31st July as the deadline but due to the fact that it’s a public holiday, the deadline was pushed to Monday 3rd August 2020.
Following the news that two of the secretariat staff tested Positive of Coronavirus, work on Thursday was interrupted at the Party’s E.C offices as all staff underwent covid19 testing to ascertain their health condition.
The whole place was spread with disinfectants on top of doubling efforts in implementing Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs).
