A 3rd Covid19 patient has died of Covid19 in Uganda, bringing the country’s tally to three.
Ministry of Health in a statement said the deceased was 67-year-old Nigerian man who has been residing in Kisenyi, in Kampala.
“He had symptoms consistent to COVID-19 which include: cough, fever, chest pain and difficulty in breathing and sought treatment from a private clinic,” the ministry stated.
“He later went to Kiruddu Referral Hospital where he was admitted and samples were taken off. Unfortunately, he passed away on 29th July, 2020.”
Up to 15 of his contacts are currently being tracked.
Meanwhile, another death which could have brought the death toll to four turned out negative.
Results from 27-year-old resident of Namisidwa District who collapsed and died on 29th July, 2020, according to the ministry, were found to be negative of the virus.
On the other hand, 7 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed today.
Out of the seven, 2 were truck drivers who arrived from South Sudan and DRC via Elegu and Bunagana Points of Entry.
Two are contacts to previously confirmed cases; one (1) from Gulu and one from Namisindwa Districts.
