The Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi ii has put out his Eid Aduha message congratulating the Muslim fraternity upon tomorrow’s Eid celebrations.
In a message signed by himself, the Kabaka congratulated all believers well as cautioned them about observing the preventive measures put in place to contain the spread of Covid-19.
“This year’s celebrations have come when the whole world is still suffering with the COVID-19 pandemic which has claimed many lives. The celebrations will not be as usual,” he said.
“We continue praying to the Almighty Allah to grant wisdom to the scientists so that they can find a cure to the pandemic. Everyone should be mindful about each other’s lifestyle during this trial period,” Kabaka warned.
Muslims will celebrate Eid at their homes while a few people will be allowed at the mosques but in observance of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Due to Covid-19, in March, the Government closed all places of worship including mosques and their re-opening still hangs in balance despite the large outcry from the public and religious leaders.
The government says they will be opened at the right time since scientists and in line authorities are still studying the requirements to be implemented before opening them to the general public.
