Defender Derrick Ngoobi has signed one-year contract extension with Uganda Premier League side Bright Stars Football Club.
Ngoobi’s commitment to the Stars will see him continue feature in the 2020/2021 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season.
Last season, he made 17 league appearances helping the club register four clean sheets from the 25 matches.
Ngoobi was previously linked to Sports Club Villa having engaged in negotiations with Coach Edward Kaziba. He previously played at Bulemeezi Ssaza team, Kikyuusa and Luwero United before joining Bright Stars.
Other players that have ran out of contract with the club include; Samuel Ssekitto, Moses Okot, Juma Ssebadduka, Methodius Jungu, Augustine Kacancu,Henry Kiwanuka ,Simon Tamale, Sula Ssebunza, Andrew Kaggwa and Aggrey Kirya.
The 2019 Stanbic Uganda Cup finalists have already lost their tactician Paul Kiwanuka who reunited with Fred Kajoba at Current League Champions Vipers SC.
Last season, Bright Stars FC finished in the 12th position on the 16-team log with 26 points before the abrupt end of the campaign due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
