Roving right back Dennis Rukundo has extended his stay at Uganda Premier League side Police FC for more two years amidst links to Rwandan Premier League outfit Rayon Sport.
The player was reportedly in negotiations with the Rwandan outfit but the transfer fell fell through after the Cops tabled a attractive offer to the player.
“I am glad to renew my acquaintances with this historic club…. looking forward to putting the team where it belongs,” said Rukundo after commiting his future at Lugogo.
He joined Police FC last year having been released by another Rwanda Premier League club and record winners APR a team he featured for during the 2018/2019 campaign.
The former Maroons and KCCA player had an impressive maiden season with Police and filled the void left by Paul Willa who joined Vipers SC.
At Police, Rukundo becomes the third player to renew his contract after midfielder Yusuf Ssozi and winger Johnson Odong.
The Cops have also signed midfielder Tonny Mawejje, goalkeeper Tom Ikara, left back Eric Ssenjobe and defender Hassan Muhamood, strengthening their squad prior to next season.
