Ministry of Internal Affairs Resume Passport, National I.D Services

The Ministry of Internal Affair’s Directorate of Citizens and Immigration Control (DCIC) have partially resumed passport, National Identification and other services.

The Ministry revealed in a statement on Wednesday  that services that had been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic will resume by 30 percent effective today.

“In view of the directive of H.E the President of the Republic of Uganda on partial lifting of the lockdown, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will resume operations at 30% while observing the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with effect from 29th July, 2020,” said part of the statement.

The services going to resume include: Passport and Immigration Services, Registration services for identification of persons, NGO Regulations, Management of Community Service orders, Demobilization, Resettlement and Reintegration of Reporters, Provision of forensic and testing services. Other services are Registration of persons for National IDs, Civil Registration services and other incidentals.

All inquiries are however expected to be conducted online through the immigration website www.immigration.go.ug/www.mia.go.ug or send an email using [email protected] [email protected] or directly call the officials direct on 0800 199 003/4.

Meanwhile the application for all immigration services such as Work Permits, Certificates Of Residence, Passes and Citizenship are also expected to be submitted online at www.visas.immigration.go.ug.

For foreign residents whose applications for Immigration facilities are approved will be required to call the immigration to be given appointments of preferred date, time and be scheduled for personalization.

People upcountry have been encouraged to utilize our regional offices in Mbarara, Mbale, Gulu and Jinja for personalization of immigration facilities.
