Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon Sam Kutesa has officially received copies of credentials of the new High Commissioner of the Republic of India to Uganda, H.E. A. Ajay Kumar at the Ministry Headquarters.
The Minister in congratulating the High Commissioner upon his appointment, hailed the excellent cordial bilateral relations deeply rooted in the history, shared values and culture of both countries.
He further noted that there have been exchanges of high profile visits between the two countries the last one being the Indian Prime Minister H.E Narendra Modi’s visit to Uganda in 2018.
President Modi pledged among other things, a Cancer Radio Therapy Machine, the Mahatma Ghandi Convention Centre, Medicines and vehicles to the people of Uganda.
While presenting copies of his credentials to the Honorable Minister, H.E. Kumar conveyed a message of gratitude for the warm reception accorded to him. He further stated that his intention is to continue working closely with the Ministry to enhance economic, political and humanitarian cooperation between India and Uganda.
Hon. Kutesa reaffirmed that this appointment would strengthen bilateral cooperation, promote trade and development between both countries.
