Uganda Premier League side Police Football Club has signed goalkeeper Tom Ikara, it’s official.

Ikara joins Police FC on a two-year deal, days after being officially released by the 13-time league Champions KCCA FC.

He joined KCCA FC from Kirinya Jinja SS FC in 2018 on a two year contract but failed to get sufficient playing time at Lugogo before heading to Mbarara City FC.

Previously, the Ankole Lions were keen to retain the lanky shot stopper on a permanent basis only to turn down the offer.

Also, URA FC had initially expressed interest in his services before opting for Maroons goalkeeper Hanington Sebwalunyo.

League winners Vipers Sports Club had also approached Ikara to capture his signature following Fabien Mutombora’s unwillingness to extend his stay at Kitende.

He becomes Police’s Fourth signing and will compete with Davies Mutebi for a starting place.

Other players that have signed for the Cops are midfielder Tonny Mawejje, left back Eric Ssenjobe and defender Hassan Muhamood while Johnson Odong and Yusuf Ssozi renewed contracts.
