Major Matayo Kyaligonza, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Vice Chairman for Western Region has asked youth in the country to take their time before contesting with “historical politicians” on numerous elective positions.
On being nominated at NRM headquarters on Kyadondo Road Kampala to contest for the same post in the forthcoming party primaries, Kyaligonza said that leaders must undergo all stages of leadership.
“Although we love young people in Uganda, as regards politics, they must first pass through the youth council and develop their skills,” he said.
He added that before anybody comes up to contest, they must first prove that they are able via their achievements.
One of the contestants on the same seat, Kisembo Dean, asked the aged people to pave way for the young generation to take over leadership.
“Youth are the right people to take up leadership of this country especially during this period,” Kisembo argued.
Retired Colonel Shaban Bantariza and Minster for Housing Hon Chris Baryomunsi are also vying for the same Central Executive Committee (CEC) position
